>>I heard India. Of course we better. Some people claim our problem is about education. But I don't think so. I see a lot of educated crazy drivers at my country. Our traffic police likes bribe, our traffic laws has so soft penalties. I think so that's the problem. Our laws requires warning signs for radar and traffic cameras. What silly laws... Who would be drive fast if there's a radar warning? If you know where's radar you just drive slow at radar areas. If you know where ara cameras you just drive correct at camera areas.

>We had a lot of the same - cops, while not obliged to publish their locations, nevertheless hid the radars always at the same places, so everyone knew the places.

>But last year we got a new traffic safety law, quite strict and expensive compared to the old one, and wow, how the people have changed. Now even a cab stops to let me pass at the pedestrian crossing. The number of accidents dropped dramatically.

Unfortunately noone not in safe even a light controlled pedestrian crossing at my country. My brother of law said me when he was at Portugal "I couldn't stand purposeless near roads because all cars were stopping to let me cross the road".
