It is not at all clear from VFP documentation that UNLOCK ALL is even actually operational against BUFFERED tables. It itself reads like it would be, but other documentation about buffering and transactions and the like strongly suggests otherwise. It is my guess that UNLOCK ALL does *nothing* on buffered tables.

As for END TRANSACTION, I believe that you are correct *provided that* this is the *last* (or only, if not nested) END TRANSACTION. I think it stays locked throughout.
