1-When it closes the year, it packs a bunch of tables.Check to see if any of the SBT tables (including .FPT's) is use by another user.

2-It could be a logical lock. Clear all flags and clear all sessions

3- It could be a corrupt index. Reindex all system tables and all application tables.

If none of those worked, I'd have to walk thru it in the debugger.
