That's exactly what my findings have found over the years. In French, many are using the same terminology to represent one of the other. But, the problem is, when comes time to use both at the same time in the same form, such as a column in a list for the Type, being then represented by Upload or Download for each record, the same word cannot be used.

I think I have been informed of a more precised terminology for Upload in French. I will verify with one of my contact for that and will do a follow up later on. It sounded something like "Téléverser" or a word like that. But, I don't think it was that one.
