Spot on! Earlier on I tried doevents, but obviously in the wrong place.
The documentation is pretty sparse, and I interpreted doevents in much the same way a read events. The docs also imply it only works if AutoYield is off, which clearly isn't so. (I know I need Autoyield .f. for the maybry controls, of course). Thanks for your help.
