(just popping in for a look around)

I disagree with you, and not just to be disagreeable. That was my initial reaction as well -- kicking him off the team for having sex with his girlfriend? But I read some more of the stories about it and changed my mind. BYU has a somewhat unique place in major college sports, being so closely linked with the Mormon church. (CJCLDS, whatever). They have an honor code, aligned with Mormon principles, that all students must agree to. It doesn't matter that I find the principles of no nookie, no coffee, no alcohol, neat hair and dress, etc. a bit odd in the modern world. But I respect their right to hold these principles. More to the point, those are the ground rules and they are very clear. Anyone who doesn't want to agree to them doesn't have to go to BYU. Brandon Davies violated the honor code. By all accounts he is an outstanding man, not just a good basketball player.

The question in my mind is how this came to light. Reportedly BYU became aware of it on Monday. Became aware of it how? Did a fellow student nark him (the couple) out or could it have come from a rival team?

You kind of got your wish already about the basketball team. They were waxed in their first game after Davies was kicked off the team. I suspect their hopes for a #1 seed are already gone given the way the selection committee weights recent performance.

BTW, in case anyone was wondering, it has been an excellent week for me, No job yet but everything else has been exactly on plan and my spirits are good.
