That's one person's opinion.

I don't think VB.NET is going away any time soon. Besides, the .NET framework is the hard part of the learning curve, not language syntax.

Personally I have focused on C#. It seems like most of the VFP refugees I respect most have gone in that direction, and I also find the language more elegant. But that is just my preference. If for some reason there was just VB.NET I could deal with that.

I need to find some work pretty soon, that's for sure. Last night I woke up with a radical idea. When you've been out of work for three months and have a kid in college, soon to be two, you start thinking outside the box. I will do subcontracting work with no predetermined rate. I will take what the person thinks my work was worth. even if it's not a lot, it's more than I am making now and will give me experience. I know more than a little about .NET but doors keep shutting in my face because of the lack of experience. It's Catch 22.
