>>The video of Japan is terrible. 8.9 is unbelievable. 30 ft wave and the video of the destruction and all that water moving inland is terrifying. All over the news this morning - the tsunami warnings around the world... I hope it isn't as bad everywhere as it is feared that it could be...

>>Just heard on the news that huge earthquakes like that shift the earth's crust enough to trigger other "pending" earthquakes to hit sooner so we may see more - 15 already above magnitude 6 the news is saying. It's a 400 mile fault.

>>Wow, look at this list since the 8.9 quake:

>>Wave scheduled to hit Hawaii around 8am EST -- we're waiting to see the effect -- hopefully it won't be as bad as it could be... I hope Victor gets online to let us know he is ok after... although the network and phone access seems to be limited right now.

Good to hear you are alive and well! I hope your place is fine too, but having experienced tornadoes and hurricanes myself, what really matters is you. I was also in the Loma Prieta earthquake in 89 and that was scary! I was inside a military dining room at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA at the time and the building was surrounded by glass with all kinds of utensils and stuff hanging from the ceiling. I watched the ground roll and the trees bend over to their sides outside in amazement. Everyone with me at the time all felt queasy right before it hit and like we were unsteady on our feet. I had never been in a big earthquake before that (only less violent ones in California before) so I didn't know that meant an earthquake was coming.
