And a perfectly reasonable one, I might add. :)
There is no one best language, of course. But even the most OOP-riddled C++ program will still outperform VFP, VB and Java. This comes at a cost--you have to write more code to get it right.
I like garbage collection in VFP when I use VFP. I like the increased flexibility I get when I use C++. Neither is suitable for everything, so the best thing to do is know the advantages of each, and evaluate them when deciding on a language for a given project.
