In normal situations, not much data is returned (small subset of data returned). Database is FoxPro tables. And the reports have been Rushmore optimized, but I will check them again to be sure.

They failed to do Store EOD procedures, which allowed them to get months behind in keeping the data Store End of Dayed (the End of Day will mark the records, so they will not be included in the next run, so each set of available data to run on is small compared to the entire table).

Since they failed to do this, the Store End of Day must run against a million records for each report that is getting data from this large table.
