To clarify a bit: for user applications 32Bit usually can use up to 2 GB,
with exe's compiled or patched to /LARGEADRESSAWARE up to 3 GB of RAM.
Of the installed physical RAM of 4GB most 32-Bit machines can only use somewhere between 3.0 and 3.6 GB, as some adress space is used for drivers an graphics memory. The PAE switch helps to utilize large chunks of memory not used by the OS in its adress space for things like disc cache.
>32-bit Windows can directly support up to 3 GB of RAM.
>
>As for low-RAM machines, you can get by on less, but you have to keep in mind how much RAM the OS and other apps are using. Sorry to hear you still have to deal with Win95.

>>I know 32 bit Windows just supports 2 GB ram, it can show 3 gb but don't use?
>>
>>Just SQL Server and Autocad( and some other applications work like them) can use more ram with open second,third,... sessions for just can use more ram.
>>
>>I think so VFP run with low memory (I have customers who uses historical PC's just have 64MB ram Win95 clients and my VFP+SQL Server application runs good -of course SQL server not at client side), so Tommy has an another problem.
