I have to make my app support varchar(MAX) type and therefore have to stay with SQL 2000 ODBC. Therefore, I need to make sure not to use DATE type in the SQL 2008. Just wanted to clarify.

Sergiu this was working and does work in other places. the code has not changed something outside of vfp has, the odbc driver, an os update, a sql update the key is to manage the change (which means discovering what changed) not gutting the entire app creating hundreds of changes....

This all works fine for naomi I will follow her course for now

Thanks
