Everyone seems to remember the original TARP expenditure of $700 billion. Although it has been reported in the news, people seem much less likely to know that the final cost after repayments is now estimated at under $50 billion. History will judge the so-called bailout kindly. I wasn't opposed to TARP, as there were valid reasons. The problem is that the current administration attempted to violate federal law by using recouped $$$ to fund a 2nd stimulus. That's a symptom of a bigger problem - huge government waste.
Want to see something scary? Take a look at the disgraceful IRS fiascos in the last year.
(On the last one, I don't blame the current administration...but the waste and corruption in their own house over the last year literally makes me want to vomit).
