I've just developed a fax solution in VFP using GhostScript (FREE from Alladin, with caveats per the licence enclosed with the package). You can download the software form http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/

Ghostscript will convert postscript to pdf - I print reports (from VFP) to a postscript print driver - capture the output to a text file - send the output through ghostscript - and end up with a pdf format file which views perfectly in the acrobat reader... (in my solution windows messaging then decides whether to render the pdf file to a remote fax machine - or to send it as an attachment, if the other machine is really a pc)...
