I wonder if Microsoft would ever consider just compiling VFP to 64-bit? They wouldn't necessarily have to release the source.
Even though the advantages would be small (at least for now), perception is everything and people perceive VFP being stuck in 32-bit land.
PHP has 64 bit versions floating around, although nothing official apparently. But just the fact that they have this option seems important.
