Now there was a movie star. Make it Movie Star, capitalized. She hit the big time at age 12 in "National Velvet" and never looked back. She had a notorious figure and a notorious string of husbands. (One writer made reference to "Larry Fortensky, the incumbent"). Her affair with Richard Burton during the making of "Cleopatra" probably set a high water mark even by the standards of Hollywood.

In her later years she was a heroic fundraiser for AIDS and other causes. Kudos.
