This message has been marked as the solution to the initial question of the thread.
If the indexed field supports null values, one additional byte is used in the index key.

>I have a table with a field c(240). When I create an index for this field in this table, everything works as expected.
>But when I try to create an index in a CursorAdapter (same table structure) I receive an error 112 - Invalid key length.
>If I change the field length to 239 (in the CursorAdapter), create index works as expected.
>What is happening? What's the difference between a table and a cursor created by a CA?
