Thanks for the reply. I understand that NT or Novell are better networking envirs than Win95 but of our customers who have networks 98% have peer to peer.

We are a competitive vertical market and cannot dictate our users equipment beyond the requirements of our major competitors- one of whom has just come out with a Delphi exe using Apollo to connect to FoxPro 2x tables. They do not have speed problems on peer to peer networks.

I was trying to do a test in a real world situation. Performance is lessened in some cases by a factor of 10 - a screen that comes up almost instaneously on my 266Mh Dell laptop running locally takes up to 7 seconds to come up when run on the peer to peer network. If the speed problem is inherent with VFP on these networks then we are going to have to scrap all the work done to this point and start over probably with Delphi. I really don't want to do that at this point so any advice will be greatly appreciated.
A problem is a problem only as long as it has a possible solution. Lacking that, it becomes a FACT!
