Of course one still needs to check the datasheet to make sure you don't cause thermodynamic inbalance resulting in trying to store significantly more one bits than zero, or more zero bits than one bits. Saw one instance there the entire cicuit board froze over and another that vapourized from this problem. I've heard that the newer chip have a bit-balancing scheme to minimise such problems.
