I used to be in the POS/retail industry back in the 90's. I still have an old website active so that I can support any of my old customers if they need it (although the software itself will never be updated).

Anyway, long story short, I occasionally get email from people who have visited my site. They usually want to know about downloading demos but today I got an email from someone who is looking for someone to develop some software for them. They're based in South Africa. Here's the email I received:

We require programme/software for a smart safe we are designing utilizing a bill validator , printer and key pad or touch screen ,etc.

Can you do ?

We represent +/- 500 independent retailers locally and are also involved in manufacture of safes.

We intend using MEI & Cashcode validators , Epsom printers etc

We need to keep track of monies deposited , the depositor , time & date , daily recons. , the usual.

Can you do ???

I replied to the guy that I'm no longer in that business, and he asked if I could refer anyone. I'm not 100% sure if he's looking for someone to develop the software for them or if he's looking for some existing software that will accomplish what he needs.
