Probably because you can have your own discussion forum, advertising, presentation, etc instead of sharing one with other developers as in vfpx. The other popular one i noticed was foxypreviewer.codeplex.com. The guy that runs that also first had a project in VFPX (foxcharts) and then started one outside maybe for these reasons. I'm not sure a single umbrella group is really needed when you can just do a search for 'foxpro'? I mean are there any other such groups there??
