You know I have my own company and I work for Bartlett & West in Topeka. Topeka is an easy drive - about 30 miles to work.
One of Bartlett and West's biggest customers is BNSF Railway, and BNSF specifically requests me to do pretty much fulltime development for them (at B&W contract rates). They had issues with a couple of other developers prior to me, so basically I'm at their disposal.
Anyway, the BNSF division I do the most work for is in Kansas City (100+ miles each way), and it's easier for me just to go onsite and get stuff done rather than try to do it remotely.
I guess the good points are that it is an easy drive - light traffic and almost all highway - and I easily make my car payments off the mileage reimbursement.
