>Yeah, I know some flavor of NET has been the party line, but it seems hardly smarter to click "New" in Visual Studio than in VFP in 2011. IMHO there's significant bias: with Android followed by Apple in control of the mobile arena that almost every expert now says is the future for front ends, why would people automatically select a MS product before they even know what needs to be developed? Some might consider it smart to STAY PRODUCTIVE in whatever tool is currently in use, staying in maintenance mode as long as possible until the market sorts itself out. Somebody else used the word "moron": who is the "moron" if they volunteer for the expense and effort of new development in 2011 if it turns out that their important market segments are accelerating in a different direction? Of course some people have little choice but IMHO people who have been able to stay with VFP until now have quite a lot to be pleased about- not least that when they eventually make a move to one of the new products rapidly converging on the specific points that matter in VFP, perhaps they'll feel more energized than people who have rewritten constantly for a decade only to find themselves no further ahead than the luddites.

Or they'll feel like they've been sitting in a hole while the world passed them by, and now they have to run to catch up.
