>>.NET integrates easily to cloud applications and data. You are a step in the right direction if that is what you want.

What if you want it for Android. Are you going to rely on Mono? If so, don't imagine you can simply port NET stuff across. You've got a learning curve before you. Once we see what the market delivers for android we'll know whether your learning curve and cost is better than jumping straight to a mainstream Android option.

>>VFP makes windows apps. With hacking and external frameworks it can make web apps. You are nowhere towards those ends with VFP.

Is mono an external framework? ;-) But I agree, VFP can deliver HTML but isn't much good otherwise for Android. But consider the VFP POV: if people have managed to survive until now, why wouldn't they wait a bit longer to see what the market delivers for Android? All indications are that fat-client apps are back for mobile, in which case you do want targeted apps that make good use of all a device's features rather than a cross-platform kludge. Sheesh, NET may turn out to be the best way to deliver that, but I'd be surprised- neither Google nor Apple is going to make it that easy for their competitor.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
