I have used VFP for a number of web-based applications in the past couple of years. It has many advantages over other platforms. Because it runs on the server, VFPs native database format is superior to say something like SQL Server. It is as if VFP becomes the server database.
The VFP language has all the features of a scripting language in addition to being a regular programming language. This makes it easy for throwing VFP code inside HTML templates without recompiling your executable. And of course you have the development environment.
I used the Web Connections package from
www.west-wind.com. In addition to the CGI/ISAPI interface module it provides many useful utilities for web development as well as a bulletin board for online assistance.
Hope this helps.
