>I do not remember a storm like that other than long ago as a child living in Wisconsin. My area is ok, but so many other areas where I used to live but still have family living there, or I drive through regularly are destroyed. It's a real disaster zone. My daughter had to travel down to one area and passed by the Lowe's in Sanford that is gone and many houses that were just totally demolished. It's the same in Fayetteville and Dunn. A couple of schools and one college had too much damage so they had to close. She was very young when we had the bad hurricanes that destroyed so many houses and knocked my trees and fences down and threw a tree through my car so she doesn't remember it anymore. So this was terrifying for her. Fort Bragg actually closed as did the schools for repairs and cleanup.
I feel sorry for these people with light timber homes. They don't really seem up to the job.
