I completely disagree. I can tell you from experiece that a family will instinctively follow the parent's leadership.

If you cuss, your kids will cuss. Cheat on your spouse, you kids will too. Do drugs, so will your kids. Don't do your taxes right, guess what - so will your kids.

Treat others with respect and so will your kids. Tell the truth and your kids will follow suit, etc, etc.

Kids are sponges that absorb most of what they learn from their parent's example.
