Hello,

I have a theoretical question that I would like to ask for some feedback/opinions.

I have a web application (.NET & SQL Server) that runs on a server and is accessed via the Internet (WAN IP address). If that server is accessible via a LAN (sits in the same small office) and can be accessed through the LAN, will the response of the web application be essentially the same as if I accessed the application from another office using the same WAN address? (My guess is yes).

If yes, how can I access the web application from within the LAN? This would be desirable due to the fact that it would be both faster (I assume) and would also not require a connection to the Internet from within the office.

My assumption is that the application would have quicker response. There are minimal graphics in the app, is this assumption that it would be faster a valid one? Right now the app responds (page to page) typically in 3 seconds or less. I would like to get this to be consistently 1 second or less for the main users of the app who reside in one office.

TIA

Bob
