>We have a VFP 9 desktop application which actually runs over terminal services. A thrid-party company is developing an add-on .NET desktop application that needs to access/transmit data back and forth with our VFP database. I have read and actually used some of Rich Strahl's routines for VFP to .NET Com Interop, but I am thinking this one might be a little bit different. That is, because the .NET application is going to depend on the VFP Com object(s) in order to complete processing.

I do this with a .net com interop dll. Events fire in the VFP app from the .net dll via com interop (Rick's examples show how to do this) and data is passed to VFP in objects. Data is passed from the vfp app to the .net dll by calling the .net dll's methods from VFP (Rick's examples show this as well). An update in one updates the other and each can "trigger" events in the other.

Why does the .net app have to depend on the VFP com object in order to complete? Not sure what you mean by that. I think if you take the time and become more familiar with it, Rick's methods and white papers should give you all you need to know....(unless you are "slow" like me and it may be a little trial and error to get it working right :o)
