But why do all that ?? Since they knew where he was, why they did not simply arrested him more quietly and alive ?

Because the man was the mastermind behind the plot that killed thousands of innocent American citizens.

I just won a bet with myself - that you'd be the one saying something like this. People rarely change.

The U.S. served notice to the world today - kill our innocent citizens and we will hunt you down like an animal, no matter how long ago it was. Remember that in 1983, we had a very good idea of who killed our boys at the Marine barracks in Beirut - and Ronald Reagan did NOTHING, for fear of retribution.

Ironically, Obama talked about this in 2007, about a plan similar to what just happened...and everyone called him naive. For the thousands of things this man has done wrong, he did this THE RIGHT WAY. Even some of his strongest critics are acknowledging that. The plan was intended to target the right people and to limit civilian involvement. He's handled this quickly and efficiently. One of Obama's former wives identified the body this morning.

He had plenty to lose...the operation might have backfired....and he'd risk looking like a bumbling fool. He could have had American blood on his hands....yes, it was our boys over there who did the heavy lifting, and they should all get a huge pop for a job well done....as should every serviceman who has fought this war for years....but this can't happen without a leader who finally grew a pair and did the one thing that the Bush administration wasn't able to do - caught bin Laden and killed him.

I can't believe I'm saying this....and maybe I won't feel this way next week....but for the first day since he took office in 2008, I am glad to say I live in the country that Obama leads. He got something RIGHT on something that was important. Everyone can talk all they want about him using it for political gain - as if they wouldn't do the same thing - he and his adminstration GOT IT RIGHT.
