>I find it interesting that you are perfectly willing to believe a large group of CIA operatives who look like Pakistanis could pull it off, but not a Seal team... :o) Or did I miss sarcasm in that part? Not sure...

Well, maybe not CIA as they were much involved with Bin Laden in the past (he was their asset / money distributor), what I meant was, more or less ANY serious task force. Since they knew where he was from months ahead, he was practically sitting duck. Pakistanis would be able to arrest him alive, why not some serious US task force ? Instead he was killed, house swept for somputers, documents etc and then body swiftly disposed to the sea. Latest reports say he was shot unarmed.

What do you make of it ? My conclusion is that there was never any intention for him to be captured alive. If CIA carried out operation they would probably kill him TWICE, just to make sure he never gets chance to speak {g}
If Osama ever appeared in real court, there would be probably Krakatoa-type volcanoe of dirty clothes erupting to the surface, going back 6-7 administrations... Amongst other things, 9/11 investigation could have been reopened with major suspect in custody,
they could catch half if not more of AQ network, just by folowing various leads that could be extracted from him alive.
Obviosely these were not apealing goals to the planners of this operation.

This was mentioned in original AP 'article' as well, and will probably be reiterated over and over million times, until 'Gitmo=Good' became accepted public opinion. And this is exactly one of the reasons why I called AP 'artefact' - sleazy propaganda {g}
