>>Perhaps like me a lot of people completely misunderstood this. i thought we were trying to get 100 logged on to UT at the same time ( I see 50 right now )

>Yes, this is what was the target. Basically, 100 persons logged into the site simultaneously. This is also valid for someone who was logged for days. As, once a person is logged, the browser keeps hitting the server.

>Facebook was formely a social site and that was its target. Then, it has evolved into a more corporate structure allowing pretty much any kind of entity now to benefit from it. The Facebook presence we have has helped us recently to increase the traffic and get new members. Twitter goes in the same way. This is why I need to have a Twitter account for the Universal Thread so we could have followers.

I agree and I applaud your efforts to build the user base. I am surprised that more people who currently use Fox don't take advatage of this sight and that many of those who have migrated to other platforms don't relalize this is a great place to interact with others. I think the format you've created here is very intuitive and easy to use and I miss its convenience on some other sites.

( of course I may be prejudiced since I've been coming here almost 15 years <s> )

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
