>One of my best friends is ultra-liberal (but if you ask him, he's a moderate...). He voted for Obama, thinks that Global Warming is fact, worries about the influence of 1300's europe on the jews, etc,, hails from Maine and considers Olympia Snow a conservative... lol.... He and I have a rule when we're together, no politics, no junk science, no medieval history, etc. We talk about life, tech and then just be quiet.

Olympia Snowe is a moderate. Your rule is a good one..

You probably already know that she is married to Jock McKernan, the former two term governor of Maine. When I was a kid and didn't care about anything but basketball he was my hero. He was an all state player for Bangor HS and went to Dartmouth on a basketball and tennis scholarship. There was a picture in the newspaper from his last game. Bangor was clobbered by Cony of Augusta but it was a brilliant shot. He drove left past the basket and shot back across his body. I worked on that move for about 5 years in the driveway.
