I'd be willing to bet more of the homes in the "inner city" fit the model I describe than fit the "Cosby Show" model. Sure, there will be some who not only survive, but succeed in the single parent situation, but to have the best chance, they need two nurturing parents, in a stable environment. Even then, it's a crapshoot, particularly when you consider all the external influences. I have to admit that I don't have an answer on how to fix the situation, particularly in the black community. The leaders in the black community, like 100 Black Men and such will have to make it happen. It must come from within. Anything I offer will have no effect.
