I realize Thomas Sowell is not authentically "black" by the standards of white liberals and the black leaders who feed off their guilt, but he is definitely worth reading on the subject.

I started reading Sowell years ago - one of my favorites is "Civil Rights: Rhetoric or Reality?"

He is in the Henry Hazlitt category of writers - straight, no nonsense (though enjoyable at the same time), right to the point. One of those, "Sgt Joe Friday, just the facts" writers.
