>>I am sure Kevin and Gwen are going to raise a fine child. Nor do I doubt their best intentions. I just think he's naive about how long complete parental control lasts. Heck, it doesn't even last as long as he seems to think it does. By about 12 or 13 their friends become more important to them than their parents. That's not just my experience, it seems nearly universal.

>That depends on the kid. William's friends were important to him, but he always made time to see me when I called. He also called me when he was in need or having problems that teens have. He knew I'd listen without being judgemental and offer advice. Its a shame that it took me the second time around to learn how to do it right... the first time I was winging it ... btw, William turned 21 last weekend and it was nice to be able to buy him his first legal beer.... Lol.... and talk to him as a friend rather than a kid...

The first time we're all winging it. We trust in love and hope it's enough.

Not that I have a desire for any more kids. I don't want to be raising them in my 70s.
