We have a client who has just 'upgraded' to a Windows 7 peer-2-peer network, they have previously used our system and have 3 other sites using the same system without error. On this new install our executables are all installed locally with some local data a mapped drive to shared VFP data files on a WIndows 7 shared folder.

Twice this week the application has "hung" on data write, the symptom is identical on all workstations, it works until the system tries to write data and then hangs. Problem also happens on the "server", no error routines are invoked is just hangs and eventually Windows 7 prompts to close the application.

I have a number of routines that have written over the years, these check tables for invalid characters, index errors, table header errors etc. These routines all report NO ERROR! but if I then pack all the tables the error goes away!

I'm not happy with Windows 7 peer-2-peer but the client is reluctant to move. I'm assuming this is some sort of caching issue? or a locking issue? Anyone had similar? or know what might resolve it?

Gary.
