>>Android is a cheap plastic imitation of the iphone. They're going down the same fragmented road as MS did in the early 2000's.... It won't be a dominant platrorm much longer..
>>
>>Obviously you know a hundred times more about mobile development than I do. At best, I'm a power user with my HTC Evo and my iPad. But I have to say that I like the Android environment. (I'm sure I'd like WM7 - my brother recently bought a phone with windows mobile and he likes it).
>>
>>Then again, I'm the kind of person who is happy just to find a good jazz Android app that I can play on my Evo while I'm giving Katy her bath every night. :)
>>
>>Here's an idea for you, maybe for a future article or blog post (and maybe you've already thought of this) - a feature matrix of what major features are found in WM that aren't in Android.

>I'd like to see such a feature matrix...but considering all the different phones, apps, and carriers I don't think it'd be that easy. I've played around with WM7 and Android quite a bit...personally I think there are indeed a lot of good things about WM7 (I've said it before - I really REALLY like the way it handles the contacts) - but Android has much for going for it at the moment. All of the google stuff is better on Android of course (better google maps versions..etc) and there seems to be much more avail freeware. Another biggie for me is the ability for me to use multiple SIP accounts on my Android phone with the native dialer (and have them all listening at the same time).

Shows the fragmentation problem in Android with Netflix:
