I haven't looked at QBXML yet. First seeing if I have to use QBXML or if there is another way.

In QB I exported the list: Chart of accounts to an IIF file, which I could open in Excel.

There is a field REFNUM which looks unique. Did a search but couldn't find anything to confirm it.

Do you know if REFNUM be used as a reference to an account?

>I was of the impression that QB prevented you from creating accounts, customers, jobs, classes, etc... with a duplicate name. So your customer names for example had to be unique. Granted in your situation, that doesnt help much if the user changes the account name after previously exporting.
