BTW, I did make one mistake when I said Android had 300,000 activations daily: latest figures say 400,000. Android powers more than just smartphones - it includes Barnes & Noble's Nook e-reader, Samsung's Galaxy Tab, Sony's Internet TV, Logitech's Revue box, and others. There's the issue that Google never truly addressed about mfg shipment counts. Their count on # of applications has also been strongly called into question. Also, someone else in the press pointed out about multiple activations on a single phone.
Sure, Android is doing well right now. But your faith in this 400,000 ranks right up there with "several/multiple Microsoft executives..." <s>
