>I am trying to create an ODBC Connection from a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64bit to a SQL 2008 Server that is registered on the same domain. When using SQL Authentication the connection works, however the application that uses the ODBC connection requires Windows Authentication to be used.

It's about application using ODBC connection not SQL Server. You would need 32-bit DSN for 32-bit applications and 64-bit DSN for 64-bit applications regardless if SQL Server is 32 or 64-bit.

What application do you use to access SQL Server?
Can you access it from SSMS?
