Hey, maybe Gates would do it for a charity gig, along with lines like "Here's for decreasing my net worth by 20 billion," and "here's for screwing up mobile," and "here's for Vista." He could raise a lot of money for the Gates Foundation, I would think. Maybe even set a goal of $1M before he orders Ballmer to assume the position. Heck, it could be an annual affair.

>I don't think this story was ever true, and I don't think Microsoft has any plans to kill or give VB away. Microsoft has perception issues with VB as more and more developers use C# over VB, and that Microsoft has never done well at keeping the perception of each on an equal level.
