You will need the Java JDK:

Then you need Eclipse:

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/

The Android documentation says:

"The "Eclipse Classic" version is recommended. Otherwise, a Java or RCP version of Eclipse is recommended."

I already had the JAVA version installed and haven't had any problems.

Get the Android SDK:

http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html


You should be on your way. Create a New project in Eclipse based on an Android Example to start seeing how things work.
