Clearly I am an iPhone and Apple fan but I think the landscape is changing. The Android OS, spread across many phone manufacturers, is projected to take the market lead. It probably will.

What is sometimes missed in numbers oriented analysis of Apple is that they are always the innovators, not the followers. The Macintosh may only have 5% of the market but it has driven OS design for 27 years. The iPod took portable music players to a new dimension. Same with the iPhone. The only real competitor was the ugly and unergonomic Blackberry, a device only an accountant could love. The iPad has broken new ground and inspired a new horde of imitators.

I copped to being a fanboy the other day. That was incorrect. I just admire people who do things really, really well. Game changers.
