I will stick my neck out and call spending 16% of our GNP on health care extortion. >
>And you think that giving it to the government to control is going to make healthcare more efficient and affordable? ROFLMAO. When is the last time you saw anything under government control get more affordable and efficient? The Post office? Oh, wait a minute. The post office is losing money hand over fist and thinking about eliminating Saturday mail delivery to try to stop the bleeding a little bit.
Health Care is a tricky issue. Capitalism isn't the answer because then insurance companies kill people for profits. Government isn't the answer because then bureaucracy and inefficiencies kill people accidentally. If the government taxes us to pay for private health care, then health care providers scam the system into paying for services not really rendered.... to the tune of billions and billions of dollars a year.
Is there some sort of weird hybrid system that rectifies all these short-comings?
