>You are probably looking back to the period of the last Tory government when they where only too happy to underinvest in public services so the rich could reap the economic miracle of Thatcherism and North Sea Oil.
>
>Actually Tony and his cronies were in power at the time. So much for your anti-tory prejudice.
>
>BTW I hope ex pat Andy has repaid the cost of any training he may have had in the UK at public expense. As he is no longer paying tax here he must owe quite a lot..
>
>Andy did not have any training at UK expense. Unless you are talking about the training he received when he served in the Royal Navy for almost 14 years as a gunnery officer. So please tell me, where did you serve and for how long?
>
>Not that it is any of your business, but Andy has paid social security in the UK since we moved here because we did not know whether or not we would be moving back there (we left because of Tony and his cronies but thought that we might want to move back if the Tories ever got back in power). So he pays social security tax in two countires.
Are you referring to UK National Insurance contributions? I've never paid both UK and US contributions and, AFAIK, since the US and UK have a totalization agreement in place there is no benefit in doing so. What advice did Andy receive on this ?
> Of course he does not pay any other tax in England. He is not resident in England and has no income there. How much tax do you pay in the United States?
>
>Your remarks are really stupid and offensive.
