No, not hardcoded. It's set in the app_system.ini file. It may be hardcoded in a few places, but mostly not. Perhaps the extent of the problem is not as big as I fear, but we then still need to re-write our installers.
Also, the tester is saying that it does work OK in the previous version and is only broken in the latest version - I'm wondering why she can not re-produce this problem in the older version - I bet it should be there as well.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
