Thank you. I probably need to download JQM and learn it since I am not clear.
The reason I thought that ASP.NET has to be part of the project is that the web application has to perform some data manipulation, read and update the database. HTML by itself will not help. The HTML is basically for rendering the pages, right? So by using ASP.NET I will use the C# that I am already familiar with. Another thing; I somehow do not think of iPad as a mobile device. To me it is more like a portable computer. So when developing for iPad I didn't think that I would do anything any differently than I would need to do for a desktop browser. Is this wrong assumption?
>HTML5 has nothing to do with VS or ASP.NET. You don't need to update VS just for doing a mobile project. JQM will do most of this for you and it is free.
