A long time ago I used to access/modify topspeed data using their ODBC driver and remote views/SPT. There'are a couple things specific to it that I remember:

One physical topspeed file is an database that can hold multiple tables. In our case each file had only one table

You have to list date and time columns in ODBC connection string otherwise they will not be recognized as such
