They all have such stories to them - if it's not paying for sexual entertainment, it's some fraud, or keeping someone with shady past on the staff, or cooking the books during the campaign... there's always something. But only the guys who disturb the wrong waters get the media attention, and then have to pay that attention.

In Spitzer's case, he was paying for prostitutes which i believe is illegal in NY. David Vitter (R-LA) was also frequenting prostitutes and he retains his seat. Weiner's specific illegal behaviors have not yet come to light, but it sounds like they are on their way. Frankly, the GOP doesnt really want Weiner to resign. Its best to be able to flog the story forevah.
